The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund (RAFBF)
RAFBF The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund (RAFBF) is the RAF’s leading welfare charity. Founded by Lord Trenchard 90 years ago, the charity has been there every day since then for the men and women who have defended Britain, its people and values, standing ready to support them, in Service and civilian life.

And to do that, the RAFBF has had to adapt. By funding new, innovative services, like free relationship counselling for serving personnel, a fast-track Benefits and Money Advice Service at Citizens Advice Bureaux and a £9 million youth programme on RAF stations the charity now offers the right support at the right time to all members of the RAF family – from childhood through to old age.

Alongside these new initiatives the RAFBF is expanding its well-established grant, care and mobility services to help members of the RAF family deal with a wide range of issues: from childcare and relationship difficulties to injury and disability, and from financial hardship and debt to illness and bereavement.

This year, the RAFBF celebrates its 90 year legacy as the RAF’s leading welfare charity, but it also looks forward to the future. It is committed to expanding and evolving its welfare services wherever a need is identified – continuing to reach out to more and more members of the RAF family and carrying on the great RAF tradition of always looking out for each other.
