Baked Brie with Almonds and Garlic Print E-mail

Just four ingredients make this quick and popular dish. Serve it with drinks, or have it with salad for a quick after-work supper.

30g (1oz) butter
6-8 fat cloves of peeled garlic, sliced very thin
85g (2oz) flaked almonds
450g (16oz) Brie, cut into 1/2-in pieces

Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Stir in the garlic and almonds in the butter until lightly golden. This takes only about 2 minutes and you should watch so they don't brown.

Place cubed cheese in a shallow baking dish. Cover with garlic and almond sauté. Heat in microwave at half-high heat for 1-1 1/2 minutes or until the Brie is melting, or in a conventional oven at 180ºC (350º F) for 5-8 minutes until soft. Serve with bread for scooping it up.
