AICR (Association for International Cancer Research)
AICR aims to save lives by improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Based in the UK, we are the leading cancer research charity with an international focus. That means we’ll fund cancer research anywhere in the world and that’s important. Advances can be made by scientists in any country and our willingness to support researchers across the world helps drive this progress. At the moment we are funding 233 projects in 31 different countries.
AICR is completely independent with no commercial ties, no links with any particular research institutions and no commitment to follow any particular line of research.
We distribute around £10m in grants annually and to date we’ve invested more than £120m in cancer research. The projects we support typically last for three years and many of them have produced significant new information that has helped advance our understanding of cancer.
